Your Sol Alpine ski and snowboarding goggles are rugged and durable. Please follow these care instructions to ensure a long and useful life.
Sol Alpine lens coating is engineered to block glare and heighten contrast. The inner surface of the lens is coated with an anti-fog treatment to help maintain good visibility and prevent fogging.
The lenses must be treated with special care to avoid scratching. When the inner lens surface gets wet it is vulnerable to scratching. Do not rub the inner lens surface when wet. Instead, use the black optics bag that came with your goggles to blot the lens to remove the moisture or allow the lenses to air dry. Never use any paper products (such as paper towels or tissue), ski gloves or other abrasive materials. These can scratch the lenses. When the lenses have been thoroughly dried at room temperature, you can then gently polish them with the black optics bag to remove any smudges. The inner and outer side of the lenses should be cleaned with warm tap water only. Rinse and follow the above instructions for drying.
All Sol Alpine snow goggles come with a black optics bag for cleaning and storage. Using it will help maintain the brilliance of the optics of your lenses. Wash the bag regularly. (Note: We do not warranty lenses against scratches.)
Tips for keeping your goggles fog-free
1) Make sure your goggles form a tight seal on your face and do not obstruct the ventilation holes.
2) If you’re riding up in a gondola or other covered lift between runs on powder days, take your goggles off to clean and dry the foam and dab the lens with the optics bag. Also, this will give you a chance to wipe the moisture off of your face.
3) Face plants and yard sales happen. If snow or water should collect inside the goggles, shake the excess snow from the goggle interior and clear all ventilation ports. Use the optics bag to gently blot any remaining moisture. Allow time for moisture to dissipate. Once you put the goggles back on, your movement allows airflow through the vents and this will help dry the goggles.
4) To ensure your goggles stay fresh, make sure to air them out and keep them dry between your days of alpine adventuring.
Tips for storing your goggles
Protect the lenses and face foam by storing the goggles in the optics bag after they have been allowed to air dry in a well-ventilated area. You want to be sure to keep the goggles far from any heat source, as high heat may melt or warp the frame, lenses, or foam.
